Custom Shotshells for companies/events
Q: Can you manufacture shotshells with custom overshot cards for companies/events?
A: Absolutely! Depending on the need, custom OSCs can be made with a company logo, name, or symbol!
Powder Migration in Shells
Q: I can see the powder migrating. Are my shells safe to shoot?
A: Yes. Smokeless powder (ball, flake, and stick) can shift inside the hull depending on how the wad fits. With clear hulls, this looks more noticeable, but it happens in nearly every shotshell—it’s just normally hidden. This is perfectly safe to shoot. If you notice what seems like excessive migration, please use Contact Us form.
Rattling Shells
Q: Some of my shells rattle. Is that a problem?
A: No. A light rattle usually comes from TSS settling inside the wad, especially with larger shot sizes. It can also result from minor differences in felt or fiber wads, since they aren’t always uniform in thickness or density. Neither issue affects safety or performance.
Packaging: Poly Bags vs. Boxes
Q: Why are most shells packaged in poly bags instead of boxes?
A: Two main reasons: cost and practicality. With so many products and shot sizes, custom boxes would require large, expensive minimum orders. Additionally, most waterfowl hunters use dry bags, so boxes aren’t always the best choice. For now, turkey shells ship in labeled white boxes, but by spring we’ll be moving to a better long-term packaging solution.
